Parenting amidst COVID-19: Pandemic-related stressors, inequities, and treatment utilization and perceptions.

Many parents of children under age 18 are faced with additional COVID-19 parenting-related stressors and may be experiencing increases in psychological difficulties;however, we have yet to investigate parent's levels posttraumatic stress symptoms (PTSS) adjustment disorder. Further, has served as a sobering reminder the significant public health disparities our society it is critical identify risk factors for poorer clinical outcomes. The primary objectives present study were to: (a) determine whether reporting higher pandemic-related stress, PTSS, disorder than controls, (b) specific individual-level (e.g., age, gender, race, number children, children) that related among parents, (c) report parents' utilization of, perceived efficacy interventions during COVID-19. A U.S. nationally representative sample (N = 2,019) from Qualtrics Data panels was recruited July-August 2020. Parents endorsed disorder, particularly younger parents. 38.3% reported PTSS above cutoff. Younger participants persons color stress. One-third (33.1%) using online mental services. Taken together, at greater pandemic symptoms. Individual-level factors, such minority status, important consider when understanding Clinical intervention efforts should prioritize trauma-focused treatments especially those who person color.
